I was shocked and bewildered to learn and confirmed that I was nominated and selected for the UCI Women in Technology applause 2023.
I shared with my lab students that you do not talk to people based on their appearance and job title, but simply to the person. This applause comes in timely, and it definitely encourages me to continue. It tells me that there are actually people who see what you do, and gives a positive thought about it.
I thank UCI OIT for having the Women in Technology advisory board especially this annual WiT applause program. I also thank for my nominators who secretly put these kind nomination words together.
I just want to say, it is OKAY to support minorities because when superiorities are created, minorities are also created.

當我確認自己被提名入選2023女性科技榜的時候，我些許驚訝與困惑。
我跟實驗室學生說，與人交談就是單純與人交談，不是基於這個人的外在體現或是他的職稱。這個掌聲喝采來得及時，是鼓勵我繼續的動力。他讓我知道不僅止有人看到你在做什麼，原來也有人願意大方的給予正面價值的認同。
